From a shelter in Florida to a family of his own

Hooch had spent months at Broward County Animal Care before finally being adopted by a family in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

His journey came with an additional challenge: Hooch had recently undergone surgery and was still wearing a protective cone. That meant the trip needed extra patience, attention, and help along the way.

Comfort and trust on the road

Hooch howled during parts of the trip and needed reassurance. With time, calm attention, and miles together, trust began to form.

The road north

Mile by mile, Florida fell behind and Pennsylvania came closer — along with the family waiting at the end of the road.

A bond formed along the way

By the time Hooch reached Pennsylvania, the long drive, repeated care stops, and quiet moments together had created a bond. Saying goodbye at the destination was not easy for him either.

A new beginning in New Hope

His new family was waiting in Pennsylvania, surrounded by beautiful open space and nature — a very different ending from the shelter where his story had begun.
